The Alliance Française of Christchurch is a Cultural Centre which organises every month various events: concerts, conferences, food and wine tasting, exhibitions, etc.

-> Among our various events, 2 of them are regular: le Petit Matin Croissant and the monthly french film at the Alliance Francaise de Christchurch.
Petit Matin Croissant
Le Petit Matin Croissant is held every last Sunday of the month at the AF premises from 9.30am. For $6 for adults, come and enjoy a delicious French breakfast with Baguette, Croissants and of course Pains au chocolat! A great way to practice some French and meet the Francophile and French community of Chch!
French Movie Night (Cine-Club)
free and open to everyone! In French with English sub-titles, come and discover some treasures of the French cinema at the Alliance Francaise!

Opening Night - AF French Film Festival 2012
Opening Night AF FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL - February 29th at 5:45pm - Hoyts Northlands Cinema
After cancelling the Christchurch opening night in 2011 (which was planned for February 22), the entire Festival will open in the Garden City on Wednesday 29 February 2012. The gala opening is open to the public, and for a $25 entry ticket you will be treated to French-themed drinks and nibbles, L’Oreal goodie bags, followed by the New Zealand premiere of Declaration of War by Valerie Donzelli. Tickets available from Hoyts Northlands or on their website www.hoyts.co.nz

FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL - February 29th - March 11th, 2012
Over the last six years, the Festival has become a key event in New Zealand’s cultural calendar and we are pleased to once again have the opportunity to bring you the “crème de la crème” of recent French movies. There is something for everyone in the 2012 French Film Festival: contemporary stories of revenge, identity, crime, burlesque, friendship and of course… romance!

The Alliance Française has 2 exhibitions rooms available for exhibitions. If you are an artist who is looking for premises, please do not hesitate to contact us and visit us. As a cultural centre whose aim is to foster relationships between France and NZ, we are happy and proud to promote NZ arts, even if it is not related to France or the French speaking world.
