Did you know that, at birth, babies are able to discriminate all possible sounds but that the capacity to perceive foreign sounds diminishes by the age of three ?
The Alliance Française de Christchurch offers
classes for children from the age of one (with a carer) onwards. Your child will have the chance to be exposed to
the French language through nursery rhythms, songs, stories and playing with a native speaker.
In the
Boutchoux 1 class, we learn to say "bonjour", to reply to the question "ça va?", to talk about the weather, and to play with colours …
We also learn to count the number of boys and girls and other people present in the class…
The class
Boutchoux 1 has lots of songs such as “Meunier tu dors”, “Vive le vent”, dancing in a circle such as “Savez-vous planter les choux” and “ J’ai des pommes à vendre », and also stories like the « Le petit pompier » which encourage children to learn the parts of the body.
The artistic side of children is also stimulated by means of drawings, for example when they have to draw the things that one finds in the house. The children also have the chance to colour in the documents that have been given to them both in the class and when they get home.
